The wait is over EN 55035 / CISPR 35 is here to stay (for now)!
It’s been a long time coming but finally, EN 55035 / CISPR 35 Electromagnetic compatibility of multimedia equipment – Immunity requirements have been released and are listed in both the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), 2014/53/EU and also the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 2014/30/EU.
Is EMC Bayswater accredited for EN 55035 / CISPR 35?
Yes, we are! Please check our scope of accreditation for further details.
What does this mean for your product?
All products previously covered by the standards EN55020 (AV) products and EN55024 (ITE) products including professionals use multimedia products, will fall within the scope of EN 55035 per the CE directives.
For products with a broadcast receiver antenna such as a DAB, FM, AM radio will fall in scope under the RED directive of EN 55035. Whilst both EN 55024 and EN 55035 are accepted for most products without a broadcast receiver. However, similar to the introduction of EN 55032 Electromagnetic compatibility of multimedia equipment – Emissions requirements phased out EN 55022. This meant that previous compliance to the CE EMC directive using EN 55022 no longer could provide a presumption of conformity. So it is easy to understand and advised to see if your product falls in the scope of EN 55035 and if your EMC test laboratory can provide EN 55035 accredited testing.
